Ordon

Ordon is Ilia's hometown and a part of the Ordona Province. It is a small rural village located at the southern end of Hyrule and is guarded by Ordona, the Spirit of Light. Unlike most of Hyrule, the people of Ordon do not appear to have long ears like their Hylian neighbors (with the exception of Link). Although Ilia's original concept art featured her with them, it was later changed during game devlopment for unknown reasons. Perhaps Miyamoto is trying add more diversity to the races of Hyrule?

Bo is the mayor of Ordon and Ilia's father; he also oversees the employment and production in Ordon making sure everyone is doing what they should be and that they are getting it done on time. Ordon's main business appears to be farming and ranching and, given that you can find various Ordonian goods throughout Hyrule, its fair to assume they export food and other goods to the neighboring Hyrulean provinces. It is currently unknown whether or not Ordon is considered a part of Hyrule; a small reference made by Shad suggests it is not.

Faron is also considered to be a part of Ordon, even though they are actually separate provinces. This might be because it is the only known way in or out of the village, or because the resident guardians Faron and Ordona are allusions to the Goddess of Courage, Farore.
